Overview

Gyproc Plaster Bonding Solution

Gyproc BOND-it is a bonding agent for Gypsum plaster & Sand cement plaster that enables preparation of Ceiling and wall surfaces (especially RCC surfaces) within 24 hours. Gyproc BOND-it eliminates risk of debonding gypsum plaster or sand cement plaster from ceiling (RCC surface) due to its low suction background and continuously under pressure of gravity. It enables dual benefits of mechanical and chemical bonding, and completely eliminates the labour intensive hacking process and the risk of plaster de-bonding.

Gyproc BOND-it increases pull out strength by 5 times against conventional hacking process. New technology like aluminium formwork shuttering needs products like Gyproc BOND-it to provide adhesion of Gypsum plastering.

Application Procedure

Background Preparation:

Surface on which BOND-it application to be done should be clean, dry and free from mold oil or any other agents. Any faults in the structure, particularly those which may lead to moisture penetration, must be rectified. Just before application of BOND-it, prewetting must be done with the help of a brush/roller.

Mixing:

Mix material properly with clean rod to properly distribute solid particles in the solution.

Application:

Use good quality paint brush. The brush should be cleaned with enough water immediately after use. Apply with even distribution of fine aggregates over the surface. Allow it to dry thoroughly for around 24 hours.

FAQ’s

One of the main reasons of not getting the desired coverage is over application of BOND-it on the surface. The material should be applied in a single coat after proper stirring of the content in the bucket. Also pre-wet the surface to enhance coverage.

No. BOND-it should not be mixed with water as it decreases the strength between plaster and the substrate. However it is advised to spray some water on the surface before application to remove dust particles and to also increase the workability of BOND-it on RCC surface

With increase in hardness of the RCC alongwith with more construction sites moving towards aluminum formwork shuttering and more number of high rise buildings coming up, the process of hacking has become difficult. Also the low suction background of these surfaces doesn’t give proper bonding with the plaster surface. BOND-it provides chemical bonding as well as mechanical key to the applied plaster giving it the desired strength

Hacking is the process of roughening the RCC surface to hold the plaster. Since hacking is done manually, it is not consistent, which means there is the risk of plaster debonding.

Gyproc BOND-it is a ready-to-apply liquid chemical, containing coarse aggregates that give the mechanical key and chemical bonding to plaster, thereby eliminating the risk of de-bonding.
